UN Secretary-General condemns deadly Israeli airstrikes in Rafah
Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at 06:09PM The UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres today condemned the Israeli deadly airstrikes on the tent sheltering displaced people in the southern Gaza Strip city of Rafah.
Guterres decried in a press release in the strongest terms the 26 May Israeli airstrikes on Rafah hitting tents sheltering displaced people, and noted that he was “heartbroken by the images of the killed and injured, including many small children.”
“As he has said before, the horror and suffering must stop immediately,” the release said.

HELSINKI, Tuesday, May 28, 2024 (WAFA) – Finnish Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen today called on Israel to respect the International Court of Justice (ICJ) rulings and international humanitarian law.
“Finland has constantly called on Israel to refrain from attacking Rafah, where there are large numbers of displaced Palestinians,” Valtonen said on the “X” platform, commenting on the Israeli attack on the al-Mawasi area near Rafah.

Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at 03:06AM Javed Ali, the director of emergency response in Gaza for International Medical Corps described what he saw following following the Israeli attack on a tent camp for civilians sheltering in Rafah that killed 45 people, mostly women and children.
“With this loud air strike that we heard, we just rushed to the hospital and in about five minutes or so after arrival we started seeing ambulances coming in. I think in total we had about 75 patients. Out of those 75, 25 were really critical,” Ali said in a video interview.
“I saw the dead body of a father who was basically holding his child perhaps around three years of age.
