A Western official has said that no announcement will be made on Storm Shadows until the “first missile lands”.
Sir Keir Starmer left Washington yesterday after meeting Joe Biden without apparent progress on the question of whether the US would lift restrictions on the use of Western-supplied long-range missiles, including British Storm Shadows, to strike Russia.
On Saturday, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov claimed that Kyiv had been informed of a decision, though he did not say what it was.
And an anonymous Western official told PBS correspondent Nick Schifrin that if there were to be an agreement, “The first announcement of this policy will land when the first missile lands in Russia”.
