A fired Balch Springs officer who shot and killed 15-year-old Jordan Edwards faces two aggravated assault charges in an unrelated gun case.

Roy Oliver, 37,  was arrested in April on a murder charge in Jordan's death. The new assault charges stem from a traffic accident two weeks before Jordan was killed on April 29.

Monique Arredondo filed a complaint alleging Oliver pointed a gun at her after she rear-ended his truck along South Cockrell Hill Road in Dallas.

Oliver was off duty at the time and was not in uniform.
